A key advantage of quickdraw sets compared with a single carabiner is that the movements of the rope are dampened by the sling and the weight of the carabiners and are transmitted less to the anchor point. This is particularly important with a sensitively placed nut or a piton sling, as these may only be loaded in the intended directions and can be levered out by movement.
