Retractable type fall arresters

In this category, you will find fall arrest devices for protection against falls in various work environments and for different requirements. These devices are designed to provide maximum safety and comfort for workers on construction sites, in industrial plants, on rooftops, and in other potentially hazardous high-altitude work areas. Our range includes everything you need to protect your employees from fall accidents. Fall arrest devices are used in a wide variety of work environments, including aerial work platforms, wind turbines, scaffolding, construction sites, telecommunications, window cleaning, mining, rescue operations, the offshore industry, and amusement parks. These devices provide life-saving protection for workers at dizzying heights, allowing you to carry out your tasks safely and efficiently.

A fall arrest device, often referred to as an HSG, is an essential part of personal protective equipment against falls (PPE) when working at heights. These fall arrest devices are made from various materials such as aluminum or plastic and may feature different anchor systems like Dyneema® webbing, galvanized steel cables, or stainless steel cables. These devices have an automatic braking system that helps minimize serious injuries and accidents. Additionally, a fall arrest device greatly facilitates work, as the length adjustment is performed automatically, requiring no manual intervention by the user.

Selecting the appropriate fall arrest device for fall protection is critical to ensuring worker safety. Different work environments and conditions require different devices. Here are some factors to consider when selecting the right equipment:

  1. Type of work: Depending on the type of work being performed at height, different devices may be required. For example, working on aerial platforms or wind turbines requires different devices than scaffolding or window cleaning.
  2. Height and risk potential: The height at which the work is being done, as well as the specific risk potential of the work environment, should be taken into account to select the appropriate equipment that provides the best protection.
  3. Number of users: The number of people working at height simultaneously affects the choice of devices and safety systems needed.
  4. Mobility requirements: Some jobs require high mobility at height, while others allow for more limited movement. This affects the choice of equipment, for example, whether a fall arrest harness with a rope and carabiner system or a stationary anchor device is more appropriate.
  5. Weight and size limitations: Some work environments have restrictions on the weight or size of the devices that can be used.
  6. Legal regulations and standards: Compliance with applicable safety regulations and standards is essential. The selected devices must meet the relevant safety standards.
  7. User training: Workers should be properly trained and knowledgeable in the use of fall arrest devices. The selection of devices should consider the experience and training of the employees.
  8. Unsuitable activities: Fall arrest devices should not be used for work over liquids or bulk materials, as slow sinking may prevent the device's pawls from engaging, creating a risk of drowning or suffocation.

It is advisable to consult an expert or safety professional when selecting equipment to ensure that the right devices are chosen for specific working conditions and to guarantee the highest level of safety.

Our product selection includes a wide variety of fall arrest devices and fall protection systems, including compact devices with aluminum and plastic housings, as well as different types of lanyards. All products meet the required safety standards and are approved according to the relevant regulations.

These devices operate on the principle of a car seat belt. The webbing length automatically adjusts to the required length during work without hindering the user. The automatic length adjustment works up to a speed of approximately 0.5 meters per second. If this speed is exceeded, the pawls inside the fall arrest device are triggered by centrifugal force. The specially integrated braking system also serves as a shock absorber, limiting the forces exerted on the human body to approximately 3-4 kN (depending on the application). The value of 6 kN required by the EN standard is significantly undercut.
